In 2002 she competed in her first triathlon, Danskin, on a mountain bike! Her first Ironman was in 2005 at the Hawaii Ironman World championships. She maintains to this day that she didn’t want to go, and it took almost 5 years for her to “recover” and toe the line at Ironman Wisconsin in 2009. After taking the lead on the bike at mile 50, she went on to win her first Ironman Title in front of many of her collegiate teammates!!
In 2010 and 2011, she and Brandon joined TeamTBB, a team of professional triathletes coached by Brett Sutton. In 2010 and 2011, Amy went on to capture 3 more Ironman titles at Ironman China, Ironman Lake Placid, and Ironman Brazil. She also placed 2nd at Ironman Switzerland and had wins at the inagural Revolution3 Full-Rev triathlon as well as Challenge Vichy in France.
2012 will see Amy and Brandon based in the United States. They will continue to focus on the 70.3 and Full distance triathlons. Stay tuned for updates!
